If you’ve ever stumbled upon a viral BL kissing scene, started binge-watching the series, and then found yourself deep-diving into the actors’ profiles, you’re not alone! But then, things can get confusing—what’s with all this talk about Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 3? If you’re looking for a complete breakdown, you’ve come to the right place. Today, we’re diving into Domundi history, tracing its journey to success, its most iconic BL pairings, and even the controversies that have shaped its growth.

Domundi started as a fun, carefree group of influencers. Founded by Aoffshin (or P’AOF, as members call him), along with Mark, Poppy, and Max, the original Domundi crew was all about travel vlogs, prank videos, and lifestyle content. Their YouTube channel launched on August 12, 2016, featuring exciting travel adventures. But their big break came when they filmed a hot spring trip in Japan—a video that grabbed public attention due to its bold concept. This led to major brand endorsements and an expansion of their group with new members: Tommy, Jimmy, and Toy.
By 2018, Joss left to pursue an acting career with GMMTV. Meanwhile, Domundi had a bigger vision—they wanted to produce their own BL dramas.

In 2020, Domundi took a huge step by producing Why Are You?, their first BL series. Released on Monday Channel, this show introduced their members in acting roles, with Zee paired alongside Saint, and Tommy paired with Jimmy. While the series had its flaws, it became a fan favorite and solidified Domundi’s presence in the BL industry.
But, what about the difference between Domundi Channel and Mandee Channel? Here’s the breakdown:
- Mandee Channel: The home for all Domundi-produced BL series, behind-the-scenes content, and cast reactions.
- Domundi TV: A separate space for the group’s travel vlogs, song covers, and casual content.

In 2021, Domundi expanded its roster with its second-generation actors, introduced through Domundi Reality. This lineup included Net, James, Nat, Nunew, Tutor, and Yim.
Then came Cutie Pie (2022), a game-changing BL drama that moved away from the usual university romance trope. With Zee paired alongside Nunew, their chemistry exploded in popularity. Max and Nat also gained massive fame as the second lead couple. The success of Cutie Pie put Domundi in the spotlight as a major BL production company.
Following this, Domundi produced even more hit BL series:
- Cutie Pie 2 (ZeeNunew)
- Naughty Babe (MaxNat)
- Bed Friend: The Series (NetJames)
- Middleman’s Love (TutorYim)

Fans loved Domundi’s storytelling for its undeniable chemistry between couples and its bold NC (non-con) scenes, which were bolder than most BL series at the time.

In December 2023, Domundi launched Domundi Friendship: The Reality, introducing their third generation of actors: Thomas, First, Stone, Gems, Namping, Kang, Kong, Titi, and Latte. The show aimed to pair actors based on their on-screen and off-screen chemistry, with the prize being a lead role in a Domundi BL series.
Thomas and Kong won the show and starred in Your Sky, which became so successful that it even got a special season, Your Sky Of Us.
Due to its success, Domundi released another reality show in 2024, Domundi Friendship: It Takes Two, introducing their fourth generation of members: Por, Save, Pachi, Ou, JJ, Kim, and Om. With each new wave of talent, Domundi continues to expand not only in BL series production but also in music and concert stages.
Of course, no company is perfect. Domundi has faced its fair share of issues:
- Problematic Pranks (2017) – An early prank video promoting a milk product was criticized for its inappropriate humor. The video was later removed, and both Domundi and the brand issued apologies.
- Why Are You? Merchandise Scandal – Many international fans never received their box sets. When they tried contacting P’AOF for help, he blocked them instead of resolving the issue.
- Nat’s Onsen Incident – At just 16 years old, Nat was pressured into participating in Domundi’s hot spring initiation. Eventually, he refused, but the pressure sparked discussions about the group’s traditions.
- Cutie Pie Fan Service Backlash – When an account on Twitter called out the show’s excessive fan service, Z and Nunew responded with a song, but the controversy only grew when fans noticed inconsistencies in P’AOF’s explanation.
- January 2025 Management Issues – P’AOF posted a long statement on X (Twitter), addressing fan complaints about artist management, event organization, and shipping delays. However, many longtime fans felt his response lacked accountability and professionalism.
Despite these controversies, one thing Domundi does well is handling privacy issues. When a stalker was reported for harassing Zee during his vacation, Domundi quickly took action, identifying the accounts involved and taking legal steps to ensure their artists’ safety.

With more series planned for 2025 than ever before, Domundi is gearing up for its biggest year yet! Fans can look forward to:
- The Next Prince (ZeeNunew)
- Khemjira (KengNamping)
- Love Upon a Time (NetJJ)
- Mr. Fanboy (AuauSave)
- Duang with You (PorTeeTee)
- Magic Lover (KengNamping) (ThomasKong) (JimmyOhm)
- Hug E-Lhee the Musical (ZeeNunew)
- Your Third (MaxNat)
- You(r)Tuber (PorTeeTee)
Domundi’s journey from a travel vlog group to a BL powerhouse is nothing short of impressive. Their ability to adapt, introduce fresh talent, and take risks in storytelling sets them apart. However, as they continue to grow, proper management will be key to keeping both their artists and fans happy.
