Aou Thanaboon Kiatniran and Boom Tharatorn Jantharaworakarn hold a particular place in Thai BL produced by GMMTV. Their duo did not establish itself through an immediate lead-role launch, but through a presence built gradually, often on the edges of the main story.
That is what makes their trajectory interesting Aou and Boom are not a pairing the industry placed at the center from the start before the audience followed. They are rather a duo that fans noticed, defended, and waited for before a truly central project was finally given to them.
Their chemistry works precisely because it does not rely on something instantly spectacular it is built through contrast. Aou brings a direct, physical, almost solar energy, Boom answers with a calmer, more inward presence, often carried by silence. Together, they create a dynamic that gains depth when it is given enough time to exist.

Aou Thanaboon: An Energy That Looks for Movement
Aou Thanaboon arrived at GMMTV with an already solid artistic background.
Graduated in Performing Arts, with a specialization in Drama, from Khon Kaen University, he has a relationship with acting that relies heavily on the body, rhythm, and space.
With him, energy is often the starting point. His characters move toward others, create contact, and bring movement into a scene. Even when he plays a supporting role, Aou easily catches the eye not because he tries to take up all the space, but because his presence gives the scene an immediate impulse
What makes his acting interesting is his ability to channel that energy. He can be expressive, enthusiastic, sometimes overflowing, but his strongest moments often appear when he slows down, when momentum gives way to something more fragile, his performance gains nuance.
Since 2024, he has also developed a musical side through GMMTV’s project JASP.ER, where he serves as the leader. This evolution strengthens his image as a versatile artist, able to exist across several areas of the industry rather than relying only on his BL acting career.

Boom Tharatorn: A Quietness That Reveals the Cracks
Boom Tharatorn follows a different path.
His academic background in engineering gives him a less expected profile in entertainment, almost more discreet in the way he arrives on screen.
That discretion is also present in his acting Boom does not immediately look for impact. He works more through glances, silences, and micro-reactions. His characters often seem to be holding something back, as if the emotion is already there, but not yet ready to come out.
It is a presence that may seem light at first, but becomes more interesting when a scene gives him room. Boom does not need to dominate the frame to exist on the contrary, he can give weight to a scene by staying restrained.
Opposite Aou, this quality becomes essential, where Aou brings the impulse, Boom brings a kind of soft resistance he does not answer energy with the same energy, he creates another rhythm quieter, more inward.

A Promise Born in Supporting Roles
Aou and Boom’s shared story really begins with Enchanté in 2022. They both appear in supporting roles, without yet forming an on-screen couple. At that stage, their connection is mostly part of the same professional environment, two young actors entering the GMMTV ecosystem, still in the making.
It is with Hidden Agenda in 2023 that their dynamic truly becomes identifiable. The series is not centered on them, but their duo still catches attention despite limited space, that is where something starts to take shape. Aou brings Jeng a direct, almost spontaneous warmth, on the other side Boom gives Pok a more fragile reserve, something less easy to read. Their dynamic works because they are not trying to play the same emotion at the same volume.
It is not yet a big narrative construction. It is a promise. A few scenes are enough to create the feeling that there is more to explore, if only the series gave them more room.
It is also at that moment that the audience starts to look at them differently not only as two supporting actors, but as a duo whose potential goes beyond the space they are given.

We Are: When the Chemistry Gets Room to Breathe
With We Are, Aou and Boom finally get a wider space.
The series remains an ensemble story, but it allows them to develop a relationship over time, with more nuance and continuity.
Tan and Fang work because they are not written with the same energy, Tan moves forward, insists, sometimes overflows, Fang observes, protects himself, lets things come slowly.
This contrast could have been simple, but it becomes interesting because the series allows it to evolve.
Tan does not win Fang over by forcing things. He learns to slow down, Fang does not suddenly turn into an open and demonstrative character, he simply lets appear what his restraint was already hiding.
This is where the duo finds its balance Aou gives the relationship movement,Boom gives it weight and when the writing gives them time to answer each other, their chemistry becomes clearer.

Visible Presences, but Rarely Central Ones
After We Are, Aou and Boom continue to appear within the GMMTV universe, together or separately, through projects such as Perfect 10 Liners, Memoir of Rati, The Ex-Morning, Love You to Debt, and Dare You to Death.
What this period mainly shows is their particular position in the industry. They are visible, appreciated, and regularly connected to important projects, but their duo is often used as a complementary presence.
This place creates an understandable frustration among fans. Aou and Boom exist within the GMMTV landscape, but for a long time without receiving the central space their audience has been asking for.
Their trajectory therefore moves through an in-between zone present enough to keep the attachment alive, but not yet central enough to fully answer the wait.

Only Friends: Dream On: A Less Comfortable Register
With Only Friends: Dream On, Aou and Boom move away from the more accessible softness of We Are into a more adult, more troubled, less immediately reassuring universe.
Their duo no longer relies only on tenderness or familiarity, but on more ambiguous tensions. This shift matters, Aou gets to work with a less solar, more nervous energy, Boom, meanwhile, can extend his restraint into a more uncertain register, where silence does not only mean modesty, but also desire, defense, or contradiction.
The series therefore allows their chemistry to be tested differently. It does not simply ask them to reproduce what the audience loved before it pushes them toward a more unstable, more mature dynamic, widening what their pairing can tell.
The song Saturn, performed by both of them, extends this evolution, their shared musical presence already existed, but here, it becomes more directly connected to their arc and to the emotional color of their duo within the series.

Billionaire Biker: The Long-Awaited Lead Role
In this context, Billionaire Biker carries a particular weight.
For Aou and Boom, this series is not just another project it arrives with the weight of an expectation built over several years.
The audience is not discovering them through this first lead role, they already know them, they have seen them appear, grow, and sometimes remain in the background despite an increasingly obvious chemistry.
That is what makes the stakes different Aou and Boom do not only have to prove that they work together, they have to show what their duo becomes when it finally carries the story
Being in the foreground changes everything, it is no longer enough to make an impression in a few scenes or to bring depth to a secondary arc they have to hold a story, make characters exist over time, and turn an expectation into a real dramatic proposition.
Billionaire Biker could therefore become a turning point not because it would create Aou and Boom, but because it would finally give them the space to show what their chemistry can become when it is no longer on the sidelines.
From Promise to Center Stage
Aou and Boom have been built differently from many BL pairings.
Their duo was not launched as an immediate obvious choice it established itself in fragments through noticed scenes, supporting roles, ensemble projects, and a persistent wait from the audience.
That is what makes their journey both frustrating and endearing, fans did not follow them only because a series had already placed them at the center they supported them before the industry fully gave them that space.
Today, the question is no longer only whether they deserve more it’s what they can build when they finally get it.
Aou & Boom have long been a promise, their next step may be to prove that they can become the very heart of the story.

AouBoom not being ever GMM’s plan is what makes them admirable, they choose again and again to fight for a place together in the industry, even when they remain unnoticed a lot of times (not by the fans but by whoever is in charge).
They have too much talent to be like this year after year.
It’s frustrating to say the least.
