DOMUNDI Takes Legal Stand for Zee Pruk
DOMUNDI has issued a strong response to false allegations surrounding actor Zee Pruk’s role in Remember 15. The company clarified that controversial scenes were purely fictional and did not reflect the artist’s personal conduct.
Specifically, DOMUNDI identified 11 X accounts (@tawanorce, @snoopynozy, etc.) spreading what they termed “baseless accusations” linking Zee Pruk’s acting to real-life misconduct. The agency warned these claims constitute defamation under Thailand’s Computer Crime Act.
Furthermore, DOMUNDI demanded immediate removal of all misleading content while threatening legal action against persistent offenders. The company emphasized these false allegations have caused significant damage to Zee Pruk’s reputation.
GMMTV Protects Joss Wayar’s Image Rights
In a separate incident, GMMTV has taken legal action after discovering unauthorized use of Joss Wayar’s image. The actor’s likeness appeared in mint soap advertisements without his knowledge or consent.
According to GMMTV’s notice, Joss had no involvement with the product. The company filed a police report for copyright infringement, citing violations of intellectual property laws and the Computer Crime Act.
Additionally, GMMTV warned fans against purchasing the falsely endorsed product. They pledged to pursue all legal avenues to protect their artist’s rights and image.
Industry-Wide Implications
Both cases highlight growing concerns in Thailand’s entertainment industry:
- The need to distinguish actors from their roles
- Increasing misuse of celebrity images for commercial gain
- Agencies taking stronger legal stances against violations
DOMUNDI and GMMTV have thanked fans for their support while urging the public to verify information before sharing. These incidents demonstrate how entertainment companies are now actively combating false claims and unauthorized usage through legal channels.
