Story Summary
Countdown to Yes tells the emotional story of two close friends:
- Wataru — expressive, emotional, and open
- Minato — calm, collected, and quietly devoted
Their friendship begins in high school through a shared love of photography. They grow even closer in college when they decide to live together.
After graduation, Minato relocates for work.
It is only then that Wataru realizes he has developed romantic feelings for his best friend.
Three years later, they reunite. But this time, the dynamic shifts.
Minato appears ready to take the first step toward something deeper.
The central question of the live-action series mirrors the manga’s core theme:
Will they remain friends? Or choose love?
