Actors Koki Yamashita (Kimi no Hana ni Naru) and Reo Matsumoto (Cinderella Closet) will lead the new MBS/TBS drama “Propaganda Game.” The series premieres on November 18, 2025, as part of the Dramaism lineup.

Based on the best-selling novel by Soichiro Nemoto, the show explores how media and advertising can shape truth in the digital age. It combines suspense, strategy, and social commentary — a mix that has already made the story a hit in Japan.
A Story of Power, Truth, and Lies
Eight university students are invited to a secret interview at an advertising company called Den-Odo. There, they join a simulation that divides them into two teams — the government and the resistance. Each group must use propaganda to manipulate public opinion in a virtual country.
As the game continues, friendships break, trust fades, and even the players start questioning what’s real.
Koki Yamashita plays Takaya Imai, a free-spirited backpacker who joins the resistance.
“I’m excited to play Imai,” Yamashita said. “He’s optimistic and strong, but the story tests his values in unexpected ways.”
Reo Matsumoto takes on the role of Masashi Goto, the ambitious leader of the government team.
“Even though it’s fiction,” Matsumoto shared, “the idea of controlling public opinion feels very close to our reality.”
The drama is written by Hayato Morohashi (Hospital Police) and directed by Go Sasaki (Chronicle of the White Dusk).
A Passion Project Brought to Life
Director Sasaki described the series as a project seven years in the making.
“We live in a time when impressions decide everything — politics, business, and love,” he said. “This story exposes the humor and fear behind that truth.”
Author Soichiro Nemoto added:
“When I heard this was becoming a drama, I thought, ‘Really? You’re adapting that story?’ But I’m excited to see how they bring it to the screen.”
