Taiwan continues to lead creative storytelling in the BL genre. The latest project, Connecting to You (整個世界，隻有你連上了我), officially premieres on March 29, 2026. This series stars Bruce Chiu and Liu Yu-Ren. It offers a unique blend of mystery and supernatural romance.
Notably, the 2026 Golden Horse Fantastic Film Festival will screen the first four episodes starting April 10. This early selection highlights the high production quality and artistic value of the drama.
The Power of Invisible Bonds
The series adapts the popular web novel by author Beck. It introduces Jia Kai, a young man with a peculiar superpower. He can see colored threads that connect people. These threads represent emotional bonds. Therefore, the more threads a person has, the more connected they are to society.
Despite seeing these connections everywhere, Jia Kai has lived as a total loner. He never saw a single thread attached to himself until he met a policeman named Da Wei. Suddenly, a silver-grey thread grew from his heart to Da Wei. This encounter changed his life forever.
Investigating Fate: From Mystery to Romance
Jia Kai wants to protect this new connection. Consequently, he takes a part-time job at the police station to stay close to Da Wei. He uses his superpower to help solve cases involving missing persons. This turns the drama into a thrilling investigative story.
As they work together, the thread between them changes color. This acts as a visual guide for their relationship:
- Silver-Grey: The initial mysterious link.
- Yellow: The growth of a deep friendship.
- Red: The final transition into romantic love.
Through these shifting colors, Jia Kai learns that true feelings are impossible to hide.
The Lead Duo: Bruce Chiu and Liu Yu-Ren
The chemistry between the leads is a major highlight. Bruce Chiu and Liu Yu-Ren bring emotional depth to this fantastical premise. Their portrayal of a “secretive loner” and a “steady policeman” creates a refreshing dynamic. Fans are eager to see how their “red thread” bond develops on screen.
Connecting to You is an intriguing addition to Taiwan’s BL lineup. It promises a story that is both visually symbolic and emotionally resonant.
