The Thai BL industry received a major update regarding actor Raveewit Jirapongkanon (Boom) on March 25, 2026. HEADLINER THAILAND and WeTV Thailand issued a joint statement about his current work status. The agency confirmed that Boom will take a temporary hiatus from his professional commitments. This news follows Boom’s brave social media posts about his recent mental health journey.
Prioritizing Mental Health and Readiness
HEADLINER THAILAND evaluated Boom’s current situation and decided he needs time to rest. The agency wants to ensure his “optimal readiness” for future work. Consequently, the management will closely monitor his progress before he returns to the screen.
Fans have quickly rallied behind the actor. They are praising his transparency regarding his visits to a mental health clinic. This break directly affects his role in Akina The Series, a highly anticipated spinoff in the “Top Universe.”
WeTV Confirms Recast for “Akina The Series”
To keep production on schedule, WeTV Thailand must move forward with a new lead actor. They emphasized that this decision is purely logistical. Specifically, the “Top Universe” storyline requires filming to stay on track for a 2026 release.
The production team highlighted several key points:
- Production Flow: Recasting prevents delays for the rest of the cast and crew.
- Reducing Pressure: A new lead allows Boom to recover without the stress of a waiting production.
- Continued Support: Both WeTV and Tailai Entertainment fully support Boom’s recovery process.
Impact on “Beloved Enemy” and Future Projects
This update also changes the outlook for the Beloved Enemy Thai remake. Many fans previously campaigned for Boom to play the lead role of Gu Qingpei. However, with filming for that 188 Series adaptation starting in late April, he is now unlikely to join the cast.
Both companies thanked the fans for their deep care and understanding. They urged the public to continue supporting the Akina project as it transitions to a new lead actor.
