The BL world is buzzing, and the spotlight is firmly on Choi SungYun (Y). The Golden Child vocalist has just signed an exclusive contract with OAK Company — the studio beloved by BL fans for producing Heart Stain, Ball Boy Tactic, and the upcoming Thundercloud Rainstorm (premiering November 28).
So naturally, the one question every fan is asking is…
👉 Is Y about to star in a BL drama?

A Big Career Shift — and a Bigger Possibility
Choi SungYun began his journey in 2017 with Golden Child’s debut mini album Gol-Cha! and quickly became known for his vocals and emotional presence.
He later expanded into acting, taking on the role of Jung Haram in the musical Midnight Sun, proving he had the sensitivity and range needed to carry dramatic roles.
But after Golden Child effectively disbanded in late 2024 following the end of multiple contracts, Y stepped into a new era — and OAK Company became his new home on November 17, 2025.
They also confirmed he’s preparing for a solo release, making this a full artistic restart.
Why Fans Think a BL Role Is Coming
Let’s be honest — the hints are strong.
OAK Company has established itself as one of the most consistent BL production teams.
Their track record?
Heart Stain – emotional, beautifully shot, fan-favorite
Ball Boy Tactic – sporty, youthful, charming
Thundercloud Rainstorm – their biggest upcoming BL, dropping November 28
With Y’s fresh start, sharp visuals, acting foundation, and growing popularity, it wouldn’t be surprising if OAK’s next BL title features him front and center.
From Military Service to a New Creative Era
Choi SungYun completed his military enlistment between March 2023 and September 2024. Soon after, he re-entered the industry with renewed focus.
Now under OAK Company, he’s stepping into what could become his most iconic phase yet.
